Drawing inspiration from the Psychogeography art movement, ‘Zeitgeist’ is an essayistic slow film that explores feelings of melancholy through the relation between landscapes and human emotion. The taken journey, both physically and mentally, is closely related to a Derivé or wandering, floating from place to place and thought to thought. While passing through liminal spaces that challenge viewers to let go of their own self, they are invited to contemplate the nature of transience and loss, frustration and finding peace in nature, city, and abstracted inner worlds, accompanied by feelings of melancholy, catharsis, and peace.

Met inspiratie uit de Psychogeografie kunstbeweging is 'Zeitgeist' een essayistische verkenning van de relatie tussen landschap en menselijke emoties. De reis, zowel fysiek als mentaal, staat nauw in verband met een Derivé of zwerftocht, drijvend van plek naar plek en gedachte naar gedachte. Terwijl ze door liminale ruimtes gaan die de kijkers uitdagen om hun eigen zelf los te laten, worden ze uitgenodigd om de aard van melancholie, vergankelijkheid en verlies, frustratie en het vinden van vrede in natuur, stad en geabstraheerde innerlijke werelden te overdenken, vergezeld door gevoelens van rust, catharsis en vrede.
